Community & Public Open Spaces

Community Hub
A new, centrally located community hub is proposed, which could comprise a community café, studio or meeting spaces, a parkland visitor centre and a mobility hub.
Further details of what this space would look like is subject to discussions with the community, parish council and NFDC Officers.
We are keen to understand what you would like to see in this location. Please let us know on the feedback form what you feel would be beneficial to the community.
Play Spaces
A range of new different play spaces are proposed that would meet the needs of children of all ages across the proposed site.
A new Neighbourhood Equipped Area of Play is proposed next to the community hub as well as three other additional equipped play areas throughout the site.
There will also be opportunities for natural play throughout the public open spaces with natural materials such as boulders, logs and land forming to create exciting play experiences.

Community Parkland and Public Open Spaces
Our proposals are landscape-led and will provide extensive new public open space across the entire site, including a new community parkland which will sit between.
A new hilltop community parkland between Phase I and the proposed development site at Phase II is proposed, creating a central area of alternative natural recreational green space and creating a gateway into the Phase II development. This will adjoin the Phase I areas of open space, providing significant areas for public enjoyment, encouraging interaction with the outdoors.
There is also the potential for enhancements to be made to the off-site public bridleway to the north and west, creating improved walking, cycling, and horse-riding routes to the wider area.
