Sustainability

Sustainability

We are proposing to ensure that the sustainability measures agreed at Phase I are followed through for Phase II of the North Totton development.

The sustainability measures currently being explored include:

  • PV panels
  • EV charging points
  • Secure cycle storage to encourage active travel
  • High specification building materials to maximise energy efficiency
  • Water recycling
  • Air Source Heat Pumps
  • Sustainable Drainage Systems, including ponds and ditches

Active Travel Enhancements

Our proposals incorporate active travel enhancements for pedestrians and cyclists to encourage sustainable transport through to Totton and the wider New Forest area. These measures include new footpaths and cycleways that connect to the Phase I site and the wider area, surface improvements to the adjacent bridleway and the potential for a new mobility hub.

The site also benefits from the new public transport connectivity that will be delivered in Phase I, including a new bus stop on Salisbury Road, improvements to the footpaths and cycleways on Salisbury Road and a new signalised crossing near Hill Street to provide safe crossing of Salisbury Road to Paulett s Lane.

Bloor Homes Sustainability Commitments

Bloor Homes are committed to building homes that are designed to grow harmoniously with their natural surroundings.

The scheme will also include extensive, readily accessible high-quality open space and play areas to encourage socialisation and exercise for residents and local community.

The construction phase will also assist in supporting local jobs in the construction industry and contribute to the local economy.
